Chief of Staff, Extension Ambassador

"Patriotism Begins at Home" so please "Support & Serve our Veterans"

Our Program goals are to Establish New Auxiliaries and Maintain Current Auxiliaries.

The definition of Extension is to spread out. In the case of the Ladies Auxiliary, we need to spread our Organization into new areas by offering membership to our combat veterans and their family members.

There are many VFW Posts that don't have a Ladies Auxiliary. A "bachelor" post can benefit from having an Auxiliary in many ways. Try to talk at a VFW meeting and share what the Ladies Auxiliary can do for them.

If there is a National Guard or other military unit in your areas, contact them. They have family members who are eligible.

Publicizing what we do brings to light the events that have taken place for our Community, our Veterans and their families.

Attract new members by putting ads in the paper to attract new members. Start your ad in bold words with "DO YOU QUALIFY" or membership is available only to an Elite Group of women.

Along with attaining new members, we also need to make sure the Department Maintains its Current Auxiliaries. We will again be using the Healthy U Tool Kit this year to ensure our current auxiliaries are in good health. The tools available are the RU Healthy Auxiliary ChecklistHealthy Auxiliary Member Questionnaire, Auxiliary Meeting Clinic, Healthy Communication Phone/Test Tree, good job Certificate and Health Certificate.

Each Auxiliary will communicate with with members to make sure the five essential requirements have been achieved.
  1. Auxiliaries should have at least one meeting a month.
  2. Dues for at least 10 members should be paid by February 1 of current year.
  3. Quarterly audits by Trustees must be submitted.
  4. Officers elected, installed and reported to National Headquarters by June 30.
  5. The offices of President and Treasurer must be bonded by August 31.

Everyone needs to be an Ambassador to help organize and/or keep your Auxiliary Healthy.
